Waverley Crime Prevention Meeting

By admin on December 13, 2014

Waverley Council and the Waverley Local Area Command New South Wales Police Force have always engaged in a partnership to identify and provide residents with opportunities to prevent crime.

The Fraud & Cybercrime Squad State Crime Command has identified an increasing trend in mail theft.  This phenomenon is not unique to the Waverley Local Government Area, but nationwide. The effect of this crime on the addressee is not only a crime and inconvenience, but directly linked to other fraudulent activities ranging from identity, forgery and other deception offences.

A proactive initiative has been proposed by a working party involving the relevant Crime Prevention Officers attached to Waverley Council, Local Area Command and the Fraud & Cybercrime Squad NSW Police Force.

The working party believes the most efficient and effective method of addressing this crime trend involves the assistance of all the Waverley community.

You are encouraged to attend a proposed meeting in February 2015 with other members of the Waverley community as the crime prevention strategies will be explained and the meeting will benefit from your experiences.

Please note: your RSVP is required by the end of December 2014. Fill in your details in the attached form below (Waverley Crime Prevention Link) and send it to Andres Lopez Rodriguez, Waverley Council, PO Box 9, Bondi Junction NSW 1355 or by email to: andres.lopezrodriguez@waverley.nsw.gov.au
